Title IX and Civil Rights Related Policies

³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ Title IX Grievance Policies

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits any person in the United States from being discriminated against on the basis of the sex in seeking access to any educational program or activity receiving federal financial assistance. ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ has two policies for addressing reports and complaints made under the Department of Education’s 2024 updates to the Title IX Regulations:

³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ Lactation and Pregnant and Parenting Student Policy

In accordance with Federal and State laws, the University has established processes and procedures to train faculty and professional staff in supporting students who are pregnant and/or parenting to ensure the protection and equal treatment of pregnant persons, individuals with pregnancy-related conditions, and new parents. ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ Non-Discrimination Policies

³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ will not tolerate harassment of its employees or students. The two policies listed below apply to all forms of discrimination, which includes harassment and retaliation (other than sex discrimination which is covered by ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥â€™s Title IX Grievance policies). The ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ is committed to maintaining a fair and respectful environment for living, work, and study. To that end, and in accordance with federal and state law and University policy, the University prohibits any member of the faculty, staff, administration, trustees, student body, vendors, volunteers, or visitors to campus, whether they are guests, patrons, independent contractors, or clients, from harassing and/or discriminating against any other member of the University community because of that person's race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, familial status, pregnancy, ethnicity or national origin, religion, age, creed, color, genetic information, physical or mental disability, HIV status, or status as a veteran.

There are many ways to seek help and assistance or to file a report with the University even if you are working or learning online. Reporting and resources will help individuals find the resources they need to address the issues at hand.

Green Dot Bystander Initiative

The Green Dot Bystander Initiative is a nationally recognized bystander awareness and intervention program that is demonstrating success at reducing violence in communities. The ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ is excited to implement Green Dot on our campuses and provide opportunities for students, faculty, and professional staff to become empowered bystanders.
