The 成人直播 College of Osteopathic Medicine's NMM/OMM +1 Residency Program encourages research and scholarly work as it provides training and mentorship for such endeavors. As a requirement of the program, residents must complete a scholarly activity. Research may be directed to the resident鈥檚 interest within a NMM/OMM focus.
Research training includes:
- : The CITI program is a subscriptive service providing research ethics education to all members of the research community.
- MSUCOM Statewide Campus System : Within this course there are 20 modules which include post assessment assignments and quizzes for resident portfolios. Completion of modules will lead the trainee to develop a hypothesis, complete a literature review, have a protocol ready to submit to the IRB, and learn to collect data. You must have password to register.
- Resident Research Manual: This manual was written by a COM residency graduate and provides a good outline of research basics.
- MSUCOM Statewide Campus System : These informative sessions include database descriptions, basic research strategies, searching specific medical databases, evaluating medical research literature, how to do a case presentation and bibliographic management.
- MSUCOM Statewide Campus System : These are five program modules cover assessing medical research literature, practice assessing well done and not so well done research articles, and examples of good journal club discussions and presentations. These modules give residents and faculty a solid foundation in assessing and critiquing medical research literature.
- OsteoBlast Journal Club: In order to practice skillful presentation and literature review techniques, residents participate in a weekly journal club presentation. Articles are reviewed from OsteoBlast, an AAO mailing.
