"The best part about my major was the professors. They are all amazing and just want you to get the best out of your education. They make you work for it, and are going to push you to your limits, but life is not easy and it's not going to be handed to you on a silver platter. The professors are always there to support you with any challenge you face whether involving school or personal matters. They strive for your success and live for that moment on your face when you realize that you learned something new or you can do it.
"One of the most important things I did was becoming president of SADHA (Student American Dental Hygiene Association) from 2005 2007. SADHA is a group of dental hygiene students that represents our program at ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥. We participate in many things such as fundraisers, food drives, blood drives and the Yankee Dental Conference. Overall, it is a great way to get involved in your major and become part of the bigger picture. I met many of the board members for the state of Maine, which allowed for many future connections in my professional development.
"My clinical experience was the most important part of my professional development. If I did not have such wonderful, patient, intelligent clinical instructors, I would not have become the dental hygienist that I am today. The clinic is where I learned all my skills to start my career and now everyday at work it is my job to continue learning and enhancing my skills to become the best that I can be."
