Sulikowski was featured in stories on Maine Public and NEWS CENTER Maine鈥檚 鈥207.鈥 He explained that sharks have long inspired fear and fascination in people, and that exhibits like this one are important because they educate the public and dispel myths about the dangers of sharks. 鈥淲e鈥檙e a maritime community here and sharks are exciting, you know, they鈥檙e charismatic,鈥 he told Maine Public. 鈥淔or me and my research, it鈥檚 exciting to see all the great information that this exhibit has and how its dispelling a lot of myths.鈥

鈥淥ne of the biggest misconceptions of sharks is that they鈥檙e human eaters and they鈥檙e out to get us, and that鈥檚 farthest from the truth,鈥 he continued. 鈥淭hey really don鈥檛 want anything to do with us. We don鈥檛 look like what they eat. We don鈥檛 taste like what they eat. And in fact, when they do interact with us, it鈥檚 often accidental.鈥
