Dora Anne Mills, M.D., M.P.H., FAAP, 成人直播 vice president for Clinical Affairs and director for the Center for Excellence in Health Innovation, delivered a talk about the critical health care needs in rural Maine during 鈥淢aine Live,鈥 an event where Mainers share their stories about what inspires them and keeps them moving forward.

Mills talked about her journey working in health care, from her time doing public health work in Calcutta, to the years she spent practicing pediatrics in her hometown of Farmington and the career in public service that followed. She said that she has been blessed during the past six years to work with health professions students at 成人直播, and she has found a renewed sense of purpose in developing programs to attract students to health care careers in rural Maine.

鈥淩ecently, I鈥檝e decided to accompany 成人直播 medical, nursing, dental and pharmacy students interested in rural health for immersions there, to light a passion in them for the beauty of rural Maine and its people,鈥 she said. 鈥淚鈥檝e worked to obtain a major federal grant so we can work more closely with rural clinical sites.鈥

Mills recalled words spoken to her many years ago by Mother Teresa. 鈥淎fter all, if we work with love and love our work, that is what we are called to be doing.鈥
