Ten student groups from The 成人直播鈥檚 Department of Occupational Therapy presented their research at the Maine Occupational Therapy Association鈥檚 annual conference.

The students鈥 presented on a wide variety of topics, covering subjects such as animal assisted therapy, employment opportunities for released prisoners, interventions for people with mild cognitive impairment, a community writing workshop for older adults, an analysis of 鈥淎 Matter of Balance鈥 fall prevention program, the 鈥淪cribes and Storytelling鈥 program for people with Alzheimer鈥檚 Disease and their caregivers, the needs of homeless individuals in Portland and an exploration of occupational therapy in primary care. The students also unveiled a test they developed to measure visual perception related to driving.

The presentations demonstrated the community-based research being conducted by 成人直播鈥檚 O.T. students, helping them to not only learn about evidence-based practice but also to engage in it.
