Jessica Kane (’17) selected to present at Posters on the Hill in D.C.
Jessica Kane (Animal Behavior, ’17) has been selected to present at the Council for Undergraduate Research's 19th Annual Posters on the Hill event, which will take place on April 22-23, 2015, in Washington, D.C.
Kane’s poster, one of only 60 posters selected out of nearly 500 entries, presents work that she has done under the mentorship of Teresa Dzieweczynski, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Psychology and undergraduate research coordinator for the College of Arts and Sciences.
The work examines how exposure to 17-ethinylestradiol decreases male attractiveness to female Siamese fighting fish and is one of the first studies to directly examine whether short-term exposure to a nominal dose of this endocrine disrupting chemical affects the fitness of exposed individuals.
Kane is the third of Dzieweczynski’s students to have been selected to present at Posters on the Hill.
The mission of the Council on Undergraduate Research is to support and promote high-quality undergraduate student-faculty collaborative research and scholarship.
