Athletic Training program names new co-medical director
The Athletic Training Program at 成人直播 is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Lucien Ouellette of OA Centers for Orthopaedics as its co-medical director. Dr. Ouellette will replace Dr. Douglas Brown, who will remain an adviser to the program and its students.
Dr. Ouellette graduated from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts, and completed his medical training at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Upon completion of a Pediatric internship with the U.S. Navy, he served four years of active duty as a naval physician with the U.S. Marine Corps. He then returned to his home state of Maine to complete his Pediatric Residency and a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship program. Dr. Ouellette is a Board Certified Pediatrician and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in sports medicine. He specializes in the treatment of sports injuries and musculoskeletal issues, and also performs diagnostic and procedural ultrasound at OA鈥檚 Saco location. He serves as team physician for New Hampshire Academy of Artistic Gymnastics, Old Orchard Beach High School, Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide, and the Portland Junior Pirates. In addition, he is the Assistant Team Physician for the Portland Pirates (AHL) and assists with coverage for the U.S. National Soccer Teams. Dr. Ouellette is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, and the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine.
AT Program Director Wayne Lamarre reports that he is 鈥溾hrilled that Dr. Ouellette will join Dr. D. Scott Marr as an integral part of our curriculum delivery. He has a passion for sports medicine, a wealth of experience, and a genuine interest in teaching to bring to our program. I look forward to working with him to expand and improve our offerings.鈥
