A short film based on David Smith's 'Most Dangerous Animal' wins honorable mention at Los Angeles Movie Awards
A short film based on David Livingstone Smith's 2007 book, The Most Dangerous Animal: Human Nature and the Origins of War, was one of three films that received Honorable Mention at the (International category).
The film, also titled "The Most Dangerous Animal," was produced by filmmaker Al Sutton. Sutton initiated the film as part of an independent movement to "stop the killing." Sutton describes the project as part of a multi-media production consisting of live performance, film and music.
Smith's book, published originally by St. Martins, explores the evolutionary and psychological roots of war and genocide, with a view towards identifying what it is about human nature that makes it possible for us to treat our fellow human beings with such extraordinary brutality. Smith is associate professor in 成人直播's Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies.
