Nancy MacRae co-edits occupational therapy clinical practice textbook
Nancy MacRae, M.S., OTR/L, FAOTA, associate professor in the 成人直播 Department of Occupational Therapy, is co-editor of a new occupational therapy text, Occupational Therapy Essentials for Clinical Competence, published by Slack.
The text, which is co-edited with Karen Sladyk Ph.D., OTR/L, FAOTA and Karen Jacobs Ed.D., OTR/L, CPE, FAOTA, links occupational therapy accreditation standards with current practice.
It is designed as a comprehensive overview of these standards as they relate to curriculum. Topics necessary for competent, entry level practice are covered, with evidence-based reviews included to help the student start a more extensive review.

MacRae is also one of the 44 contributors to the book, which she says has been a collaborative endeavor with many of her 成人直播 colleagues, who are contributors to the book. They are: Regi Robnett,Ph.D., OTR/L, department director and associate professor; Jan Froelich, M.S., OTR/L, associate professor; Kathryn Loukas, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA, associate clinical professor; William Croninger, MA, OTR/L, associate professor; Jane O'Brien, Ph.D., OTR/L, associate professor; Betsy DeBrakeleer,COTA/L, ROH, clinical fieldwork coordinator; and Barbara Steva, occupational therapist, 成人直播 Community Occupational Therapy Clinic.
Additionally, four former faculty members and three OT graduates from 成人直播's master of occupational therapy program were chapter authors.

Nancy MacRae
MacRae has been a member of 成人直播's occupational therapy faculty for 20 years. Her interests focus on occupation, the elderly, sexuality, death and loss, interdisciplinary/professional approaches to health care, women, management and supervision issues.
She serves on the editorial board of the WORK Journal and is the author of a number of publications, including a chapter on Aging and Sexuality in the second edition of Gerontology for the Health Care Professional.
MacRae has served 成人直播 in leadership roles with the University Faculty Assembly, the Reappointment, Promotion, and Tenure Committee, and as director of the Occupational Therapy Department. In addition, she has served on multiple college committees where the focus has been on interdisciplinary learning and teaching.
