Maine Osteopathic Association Honors 成人直播 President Emeritus Sandra Featherman

At its 99th Annual Oceanside Convention recently held in Rockport, Maine, the Maine Osteopathic Association presented its most prestigious awards at the MOA President's reception.

成人直播 President Emeritus Sandra Featherman, Ph.D., received the Roswell P. Bates D.O. Public Service Award.  The award recognizes outstanding achievements in public health and community service that enhance and demonstrate the osteopathic profession's commitment to service above and beyond that of direct patient care.

Dr. Featherman was presented the award in recognition of her many years of service and commitment to the osteopathic profession. She is the first non-physician to receive the Roswell P. Bates Public Service Award.  As president of the 成人直播 from 1995-2006, Dr. Featherman made significant contributions to promoting and protecting the osteopathic profession while growing the University's enrollment, increasing revenues and advocating many public health policies, including participating on the Governor's Dirigo Steering Committee. She remains on the faculty as a professor in the political science department at 成人直播.  Dr. Featherman is a former Commissioner of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Higher Education, a past Chair of the Assembly of Presidents of the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, and is currently a public member of the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA).

Prior to 成人直播, she held positions at the University of Minnesota/Duluth as vice chancellor for academic administration and professor of political science, and at Temple University as assistant to the president, director of the Center for Public Policy, and president of the Faculty Senate. Her B.A., M. A., and Ph.D. are from the University of Pennsylvania.
