NAACP Annual MLK, Jr. Community Dialogue

1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Ludcke Auditorium
成人直播 Students and Local High School Student Leaders

Free and open to the public

"History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people." Martin Luther King Jr.

Undergraduate 成人直播 students in the Advanced Diversity Leadership Certificate co-curricular program, along with NAACP Martin Luther King, Jr. Fellows and other local high school student leaders, will facilitate this unique community dialogue that brings together people of all ages while providing youth the opportunity to develop and strengthen their leadership skills.

Two critical issues - hunger and its impact on health outcomes along with education achievement gaps - will be explored through speakers, interactive breakout sessions and a call to action.  The primary goals of the program are to learn more about the inequities and current efforts at eliminating them along with strategizing on the collective action needed for  sustainable change.  This provides a rare opportunity for intergenerational community-action engagement.
